Labour MP Helen Goodman criticised for tweet about Jeremy Hunt's wife

Labour MP Helen Goodman, who is facing a backlash over an apparent jibe at the wife of the fitness secretary, Jeremy Hunt.
Labour MP Helen Goodman has been criticised after a tweet from her account asked why, “if China is so terrific”, Jeremy Hunt’s spouse – who's from China – had come to England.
The remark comes after the health secretary spoke of his wife’s foundation when suggesting that the executive’s tax credit cuts would motivate Britons to work as difficult as individuals in some Asian economies.

Goodman, the MP for Bishop Auckland and a Treasury opt for committee member, turned into criticised by way of the Liberal Democrat chief, Tim Farron, and Conservative MP Nadhim Zahawi, amongst others.

A Labour spokeswoman spoke of: “This doesn't represent the views of the Labour birthday party. Helen could be reminded of her obligations as an elected Labour baby-kisser.”
Labour peer Angela Smith instructed the BBC’s Westminster Hour: “it is fully weird, I do not take into account it at all. I don't know what she is attempting to say, or the meaning behind it. however, sure, if it really is her tweet, she may still apologise ... most likely, Mrs Hunt lives in the UK because she is married to Mr Hunt and he or she is in love with him and desires to be with him, so conclusion of story.“however I think there is a lesson for all here: that our partners and our households are not within the public domain to be criticised or commented on.”

She added that there can be a “queue around the block” if everybody who “said something stupid on Twitter” became made to apologise. Labour MEP Claude Moraes also criticised Goodman.
Goodman later deleted the tweet and posted an apology.
speaking at a fringe event on the Tory celebration conference ultimate week, Hunt stated the controversial welfare changes would support the nation’s work ethic.

“My wife is chinese language, and if we want this to be one of the crucial a success countries in the world in 20, 30, forty years’ time there’s a beautiful tricky question that we must answer which is pretty much: are we going to be a rustic that is prepared to work difficult in the approach that Asian economies are organized to work tough, within the way that american citizens are prepared to work difficult? and that is about developing subculture where work is at the heart of our success.”
In July last year, Goodman was criticised for asserting that essentially the most exciting things concerning the then newly promoted female Conservative ministers Nicky Morgan, Anna Soubry and Penny Mordaunt have been their looks.

A tweet appeared on her account that study: “All are puppets who’ll trade nothing and their look really is probably the most unique element about them.” The tweet turned into later deleted.
Neither Goodman nor Hunt have replied to requests for remark.
